Travel Resources

Travel ResourcesITA Matrix – Websites such as Expedia and Travelocity are not the best places to research flights. Rates advertised on these sites are often the same as those offered directly through the airline; however, if something goes wrong, as third-party providers, these companies won’t be able to offer you the same level of customer service offered when you deal directly with the airline.  Use ITA Matrix (Google software) to cross-reference flight options from all carriers, then book your own flight through the airline’s website. matrix.itasoftware.com/

SeatGuru – Not all airline websites are created equal.  Some are more user-friendly than others.  SeatGuru gives readers information that may be difficult to find elsewhere. Go to this site to view a layout of the plane on which you will be traveling and get tips for the best places to sit on that particular aircraft. www.seatguru.com/

FlightView Free – Many airlines have their own apps so passengers can check for delays, whether at their final destination, etc. A great app to use to track flights and get other information from several airlines is FlightView from iTunes. itunes.apple.com/us/app/flightview-free-real-time/id399057337?mt=8

Shipping Luggage - There are many companies that will ship your luggage to and from your favorite vacation spot so you don’t have to. Check out these websites:

Lounge Club – Use this website to find lounges in airports around the world. A relaxing visit to an airport lounge will keep comfortable during those long layovers. www.loungeclub.com/en/our-lounges/

NEXUS – This program is a joint effort between the U.S. and Canada designed to allow low-risk travelers to cross the border quicker and easier. www.cbp.gov/travel/trusted-traveler-programs/nexus

Global Entry – This program allows expedited clearance for pre-approved, low-risk travelers upon arrival in the United States. Though intended for frequent international travelers, there is no minimum number of trips necessary to qualify for the program.
